On 9 October, the Fuerteventura Technology Park hosted a new edition of Canary Tech Connect—a well-established event that backs professionalism, rigour and collaboration as pillars for a robust digital transformation in the Canary Islands.

Organised by Atlantis Technology, this ninth edition brought together public institutions, tech companies and change-makers with a clear goal: rethink the Archipelago’s digital future from a practical, cross-sector perspective, covering key themes such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and digital government.
Public–private ecosystem in action
The day was opened by Javier Franco, Director of ACIISI, joined by Rayco León, Councillor for Culture, Heritage and Innovation at the Island Council of Fuerteventura, and Eduardo Pereira, General Manager of the Technology Park—an institutional show of support that underlines innovation as a lever for economic development and territorial cohesion.

Key voices from the ecosystem also took the stage, including Carmen Alonso (Island Council of Fuerteventura), Miguel Ángel Echeverría Remón (Liferay), Rafael H. Rodríguez Martínez (R2 Hotels), Alejandro González Martínez (OneCyber), Iñaki Echevarría and Alejandro Medina Arocha (Atlantis Technology).
The power of data spaces: a practical, Canary-grown approach
In our pitch, “The power of data spaces”, MNX Online outlined how these new data-sharing environments are reshaping decision-making across institutions and companies.

We focused on real-world cases developed in the Canary Islands spanning tourism, sustainability and operational management, explaining in plain language how data spaces enable secure, scalable and controlled information sharing among diverse stakeholders.
Our goal: debunk myths and make complex concepts tangible so that more organisations see the data economy not only as a technical challenge but also as an opportunity for collaboration, efficiency and innovation with real impact.

An event that strengthens Fuerteventura’s role on the Archipelago’s tech map
Taking part in Canary Tech Connect Fuerteventura allows us to keep bridging technology, territory and talent, showing that the islands also generate solutions aligned with Europe’s digital strategies and today’s challenges.
We thank Atlantis Technology for having us once again and for fostering spaces like this—where we can think, share and build the digital future the Canary Islands need.
